Recording a voice note

Record Voice captures something spoken and turns it into clean, replayable text. It suits catching an idea, reading something aloud to come back to, or thinking out loud.

Recording

Open Record Voice from the Add tab and tap the microphone. While recording you get a timer and a live waveform, and you can pause and carry on. Set the spoken language from the chip before you start, and turn on noise removal for that recording if the option is available.

After you stop

Mote transcribes the recording, which takes a few moments. If it fails, you are offered Retry or Discard. Nothing is added to your library unless the recording worked, so a failed take does not leave anything behind.

Playing it back

A voice note plays back your actual recording rather than a synthetic voice, with the transcript on screen and the words highlighted as they are spoken. You can translate the transcript, and rename the note at any time.
