Adding content to your Mote Library

The Add tab is where everything comes in. Whatever you add becomes a library item you can listen to and return to.

Paste a link into the URL field and tap Add. Mote loads the page, strips out the navigation and clutter, and gives you a clean article to read and listen to.

The four tiles

  • Import File opens the file picker. Mote handles PDF, EPUB, DOCX, TXT and RTF, up to 60 MB per file.
  • Scan Text opens the camera to photograph a page, or lets you import from Photos.
  • Record Voice opens the recorder.
  • New Doc opens the Writer for something you want to write yourself.

Dragging things in

You can also drag an image, document, link or piece of text onto the Add screen.

From another app

You do not have to start in Mote. Use the iOS Share sheet from Safari, Mail, Files or anywhere else and choose Mote. See Sending content to Mote from another app.

When something goes wrong

Items are only created when the content loads successfully, so a failed import does not leave a broken row in your library. If a page cannot be simplified, Mote falls back to showing the full page instead.

Once something is in, see Your Library, Collections and Continue Reading and Reading aloud on iPhone and iPad.
