Your Library, Collections and Continue Reading

The Library tab is where you live in Mote. It opens like a book app rather than a set of tools.

Anything you have started but not finished appears in a row across the top, newest first, so you can pick straight up where you stopped. Items leave the row once you finish them, or after seven days without opening them.

The five kinds of item

Every item is one of five types, each with its own colour and icon: Web Page, Document, Image, Voice Note, and Writer Doc. A card shows where it came from, how far through you are, and a green Done badge once finished.

Finding things

Search the library by title or source with the search pill. The filter chips narrow the grid to a single type, or to one of your collections.

Collections

Collections group items by class, project or however else you think about them.

  • Create one with the + Collection chip, then give it a name.
  • Add an item by pressing and holding its card, then choosing Add to collection. An item can sit in more than one.
  • Delete a collection from its chip. The items stay in your library.

Other things you can do to an item

Press and hold any card to mark it complete or unread, add it to a collection, share it, or delete it. Deleting asks for confirmation first, because it cannot be undone.

See Adding content to your Mote Library for getting things in, and Reading aloud on iPhone and iPad for listening to them.
