Using Mote Chrome Extension tools inside Mote PDF
Every Mote Chrome Extension tool works on any PDF you open in Mote PDF. A student's full toolkit follows them onto the document, with nothing new to learn.
What is available
- Read Aloud. Select any text on the page and hear it read in natural-sounding voices.
- Translation. Translate a passage into the reader's language without leaving the document.
- Dictionary. Look up a word's meaning inline, so unfamiliar vocabulary does not stop the reading.
- Speech to Text. Dictate with your voice instead of typing when adding notes or filling in text boxes.
- Text Prediction. Word suggestions as you type into the document.
- My Annotations and Screen Mask work on the page as well.
Why this helps
Students already use these tools on web pages and in Google Workspace. Keeping them identical on PDFs means a document that used to be read-only becomes something a student can read, understand and write on, without learning a separate app for it.
On scanned documents
