Opening a PDF from Google Drive
Most school PDFs already live in Google Drive, so Mote PDF opens them from there directly. There is no downloading and no re-uploading, which means no second copy to lose track of.
From the Mote PDF web app
- Go to app.mote.com/pdf and sign in with Google.
- Browse or search your Drive from the file picker.
- Choose a PDF. It opens straight into Mote PDF, ready to read and mark up.
Mote handles the Google sign-in and streams the file, so the copy in Drive stays where it is.
From Google Drive itself
Install the Mote PDF Google Workspace app and you get a second route: right-click any PDF in Drive and choose to open it with Mote. This is usually quicker if you are already working in Drive.
From a PDF you already have open
If a PDF is open in your browser with the Mote Chrome Extension alongside it, use the export to Mote button to bring it into Mote PDF.
Once you have finished working on it, see Saving your work back to Google Drive. For an overview of everything Mote PDF does, see Getting started with Mote PDF.
