How do I create a class?

Creating a Mote class allows teachers to monitor and manage their students in a single location. With a Class you can:

1. Monitor student usage
2. Control students access to different features with teacher controls
3. Adding students to your class gives them a 60-day free trial!

How to set up your class: OPTION 1 - with Google Classroom

1. Go to https://www.mote.com/my-classes/

2. Click "Import from Google Classroom'
3. Follow the prompts to grant permissions (you may need to first request permissions from your Admin for this)
4. Choose the Class to import from Google Classroom
5. DONE

How to set up your class: OPTION 2 - using a link

1. Go to https://www.mote.com/my-classes/
2. Click 'Add Class'
3. Name your class
4. Share using a link or QR code

How to add students to your class:

Now your students are set up in your class you can enable or disable sidebar features for the entire classes and for individual students.

FAQs

Can I make multiple Classes?

Users under school subscriptions can create multiple classes for their students. If you're on a building subscription or are on an individual subscription you will be limited to one class.

Will I be able to see which of my students are in my Class?

Yes - you can see a list of the students who have signed up, as well as seeing a summary of their Mote activity.

Do students need a Mote account to join a Class?

Yes, your students will need to login to Mote in order to join your class

Do students need the Mote Chrome extension installed to access the Class?

The Mote Chrome extension is not required but is strongly recommended, because it unlocks most of the functionality that students will value.
