Q: What will students see when I record my voice within Google Forms?
A: Check out this video to learn about the student experience with Mote, and to understand what students will see based on their device and whether they have the Mote extension installed.
Q: Can students respond using voice within Google Forms?
A: Yes! See the video linked above to learn more.
Q: Can I disable students' ability to respond using voice within Google Forms?
A: Any student with Mote enabled in their browser, and logged into an account, will be able to record a voice response within Google Forms. We do not offer the ability to disable this.
Q: How can I hear students' responses within Google Forms?
A: If you review students' responses within Google Sheets, you'll be able to easily listen to their voice notes by hovering over the Mote links.
Q: I keep seeing a 'Whoops' message, and my recording fails. What's happening?
A. Your IT department may have implemented a firewall or other web filtering software.
You can check your connectivity by going to www.mote.com/diagnostics
If you see any 'red' results, please read this article and share it with your IT team.
Q: I can add the mote recordings, but when I view the Form in preview mode, I only see a link.
A: This may be caused by interference from other Chrome extensions. Please try disabling other extensions, or just try creating a new browser profile which just has the Mote extension.
Q: Can students with managed Chromebooks use Mote for Forms in locked mode?
To use Mote with Locked Mode, students will need to have the Mote extension installed in their Chrome browsers, and will need at least Chrome v110.
