Troubleshooting
Microphone errors will be caused by hardware failures - i.e. something wrong with your physical microphone. (We test to ensure that your microphone software isn't blocked when you start using mote - you grant Google Docs and Google Classroom access to the microphone so that Mote can use it.)
It might also be helpful to open your sound settings and be sure to change the input to the headphones or speakers you are using.
If you have the Unlimited tier, or a free trial of Unlimited, you should enable transcription, and then see whether your voice note is transcribing.
If you don't see a transcript, then the issue is almost certainly with your microphone hardware.
Try restarting your machine. If that doesn't fix things, try using an external microphone e.g. wired headphones.
If you do see a transcript, but you don't hear anything, then the problem is likely with your laptop speakers. Try restarting your machine, or plugging in some headphones. You may need to check your Audio settings as well.
