How does Mote's pricing work for teachers, schools and districts?

Our pricing philosophy

We believe that pricing should be simple, consistent and transparent. We aim to offer every customer the same pricing 'rate card', and do our best to avoid the waste of time and energy involved in negotiating special terms. We also promise to offer you the best possible price that will meet your needs. 

Pricing models

We currently offer three distinct pricing models for multi-seat purchases targeted at education institutions.

1. Unlimited group: licenses for groups of educators and/or students

2. School pricing: a fixed price for a whole K12 school, all students and teachers.

3. District or College: licenses for all educators and students in Higher Education, across multiple schools or a whole district

Unlimited group pricing

You can see the baseline price for a single Unlimited subscription in your local currency at https://mote.com/pricing. We offer discounts on this price for purchases of 10+ licenses, and there are bigger discounts that kick-in at 50 and 250 licenses (as of writing). This is our standard pricing for groups of teachers and/or students.

School pricing

You can see the price for a School subscription here. School pricing is our newest pricing model, and is designed to make administration as simple as possible for schools.

District or College pricing

This pricing offers a large discount on our regular per-user pricing, because it is intended for whole-school and whole-district roll-out. If you would like to learn more, please submit a pricing request here.

We can only offer this type of discounted per-seat pricing if a school purchases for all students and teachers. We do this for two main reasons.

1. Firstly, we want as many students and teachers as possible to be able to harness the powers of Mote, as a world where we type less and talk more is a better one for us!
2. Secondly, as a small company, we rely on schools and individuals purchasing subscriptions to keep our wheels turning.

Additional discounts

We offer additional discounts for multi-year purchase - currently 20% discount for 2-year and 3-year commitments, with payment upfront.

We also offer a 20% partnership discount for Google Reference districts, and other selected schools  and districts willing and able to participate in case studies and research. Ask our team to see if your school or district might qualify for this program.

FAQ

Q. Can I just get the Mote District or College plan for my teachers, and just some of my students?

A. Unfortunately, no. We can only offer Mote's Schools Plan if you are purchasing for all of your teachers and all of your students. 

Q. In my school, some grades don't use technology at all, or use completely different software that doesn't work with Mote. Do I still need to purchase seats for those grades?

A. For elementary / primary schools, where younger grades use iPads or different software (such as Canvas), we may be able to exclude teachers and students in these grades from the subscription - please talk to a member of our team to discuss your particular situation.
