With a few exceptions* (see below), Mote works by creating a link that can either be clicked to access on a web page OR - if the other person has the Mote Chrome extension installed - can be enjoyed within the application.
If the recipient has an iPad, they will not have the Chrome extension, so they will see a link to click.
See the article below for details.
What will other people see when I create a voice mote?
* Exceptions:
Mote for Google Slides: Mote saves audio to your Google Drive, and inserts the audio into the slide, so students on iPads (or any other device) will be able to listen to them in the page.
Mote Auto Read Aloud for Google Forms: There are no links created at all - instead, once enabled, Mote acts like a screen reader designed specifically for Google Forms. However, this ONLY works if students have the Mote Chrome Extension. Therefore, if students are on iPads, this will not work.
