A Middle School Teacher's Quick Start Guide to Mote

If you're a Middle School teacher like Alex Isaacs, then Mote is a great tool to have in your tool belt.

Getting Started: using Mote for Voice Recording in Google Slides

Create your Mote account, or access your assigned account if your school has purchased a licence. Start here.

If you don't already have the Mote Chrome extension installed, you will be prompted to install it during onboarding. If you need the link, it's here.

A great place to start using Mote is with Google Slides, which is the easiest way to add voice content to a Google Slide. This is especially helpful when you're making the transition from apps like SeeSaw, which offer integrated audio recording support, because Google Slides doesn't have an integrated audio recorder. Mote offers this - and much more!

Because the audio is embedded within the slide, there's no need for students to even have the Mote Chrome extension installed. However, once you're confident using Mote, you can introduce Mote to your students and open up a rich world of possibilities.

Another very popular way to use Mote among Middle School teachers is within Google Forms, where Mote offers multiple ways to accommodate students who have Read Aloud support requirements.
