What is Mote's Background Noise Reduction mode?
Background noise reduction applies the latest AI-powered technology to reduce unwanted background noise from your environment, and boosts the sound of your voice. This is designed to work well for all users in all languages, however this is a Beta feature and please let us know if you feel that it is not performing as expected.
Background noise reduction is enabled by default, however you can disable it easily within the Mote Chrome Extension, (see below), or on the Account Settings page here.
We recommend NOT to use Background Noise Reduction if you are recording music, or if you are capturing audio from a group of users including some who are far away from the microphone.
One great feature is that - if you enable Background Noise Reduction - you / your recipients will always have both the original audio and the 'enhanced' audio with Background Noise Reduction. However, if you think that your motes sound better / achieve your goal better without Background Noise Reduction, you should consider disabling it in settings so that your recipients hear your mote as you intend it.
At this time, Background Noise Reduction is supported in Mote integrations with Google Docs, Google Classroom, Google Forms and Canvas, as well as in the 'Magic Mic' Chrome Extension recorder and the web recorder.
Applications that do not currently support Background Noise Reduction include Google Slides (insertion) and Mote for Gmail.
