How do I hide the Mote Sidebar?

The Mote Sidebar is easily hidden by clicking on the X button which shows when you hover.

Why does the sidebar show up whenever I use a particular website?

By default, the Mote Sidebar will be displayed for users in Google Workspace apps and on mote.com, and hidden on all other websites.

What happens when I open or close the sidebar on a particular website?

We remember your Mote Sidebar preferences on each website that you visit, so that if you dismiss the Mote Sidebar on, for example, Google Docs, you will not see it the next time you open a Google Docs page. The inverse is also true - i.e. we try to make the right default choice for each user based on expressed preferences.

For most websites, we record user preferences at the level of the domain (e.g. wikipedia.org) but for Google Workspace, we record user preferences for each application, since the work being undertaken varies so much between the applications.
