What is Read Aloud?

Mote Read Aloud uses the Mote Chrome Extension to transform written text into human voice, helping students and educators engage with content in a more inclusive and accessible way. With support for text translation in over 50 languages, adjustable voice speeds, and multiple voice options, this tool is tailored to meet the diverse needs of classrooms with Oral Administration / Accommodations for IEP / 504 students.

This is a premium feature available to Mote Unlimited users, including School tier customers.

What platforms does Read Aloud work on?

Read Aloud works across Google Platforms, webpages, Canvas and Speedgrader. This provides support for students across educational platforms.

Access to Read Aloud on Google Forms is available to students with a free account, but Universal Read Aloud is a premium feature available under Unlimited.

How do I enable Read Aloud?

To enable the feature:

1. Click the Mote extension in your browser
2. A sidebar will appear providing you with all of the Read Aloud options
3. Either highlight the text you want to read (or use the select area button) or just press play to hear everything!
